Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Eyevora when you shop with us.

Last updated

These terms govern your use of eyevora.com and every order you place with us. We have tried to write them in plain language — where a clause matters to you in practice, it says so rather than hiding behind a heading.

Please read section 8 if you are buying prescription eyewear, and section 13 for the limits of our liability.

1. Who you are contracting with

Eyevora is operated by [TBC — registered legal entity name], a company licensed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates under trade licence [TBC — trade licence number], issued by [TBC — licensing authority, e.g. Dubai DED]. Our Tax Registration Number is [TBC — VAT TRN].

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Eyevora” mean that company; “you” means the person using this website or placing an order. Our registered address and contact details are on the contact page.

2. Accepting these terms

By browsing this website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order or hold an account. If you are ordering on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

These terms incorporate our Shipping & Delivery policy, our Returns & Refunds policy, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. Read together, those documents are the whole agreement between us.

3. Your account

You can order as a guest or create an account. If you create one, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account until you tell us otherwise.

Give us accurate details and keep them current — particularly your phone number, which couriers rely on. We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently, abusively, or in breach of these terms.

4. Products and descriptions

We describe every product as accurately as we can, including the frame measurements in millimetres. Even so, screens render colour differently and photographs cannot convey weight or exact finish, so slight variation between the image and the item is normal and is not a defect.

Availability is not guaranteed until an order is accepted. Occasionally an item sells out between your order and our dispatch; if that happens we tell you and refund that item in full.

Accessories shown in a photograph — cases, cloths, styling props — are only included where the description says so.

5. Prices, VAT and payment

All prices are in UAE dirhams (AED) and include VAT at 5%, the standard rate under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017. Your tax invoice shows the VAT element separately along with our TRN.

Delivery charges are shown separately before you pay. Prices may change at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.

We accept:

  • Visa, Mastercard & American ExpressProcessed by Stripe.
  • Apple PayOn supported Apple devices.
  • Tabby4 interest-free instalments.
  • TamaraSplit into 3 or pay later.
  • Cash on deliveryUAE only, orders up to AED 5,000.

The methods available to you are the ones shown at checkout. Availability can differ by order value, destination and provider approval, and a method being listed here does not guarantee it will be offered on every order.

Tabby and Tamara run their own credit assessment and may decline you. That decision is theirs, we are not told the reason, and their own terms govern the instalment agreement you enter into with them.

Obvious pricing errors

If a product is listed at a price that is clearly wrong — a decimal place out, or a fraction of its real value — we are not obliged to supply it at that price. We will contact you to confirm whether you still want it at the correct price, or cancel and refund the order in full. We will never charge you more than the price you agreed without asking first.

6. How an order is formed

Placing an order is an offer to buy. It is not accepted — and no contract exists — until we email you to confirm dispatch. The confirmation you receive immediately after checkout acknowledges your order; it does not accept it.

We may decline an order where the item is unavailable, where we cannot verify payment or the delivery address, where the order appears fraudulent or is for resale, or where a pricing error applies. If we decline, we refund anything already taken in full.

Cash-on-delivery orders are limited to AED 5,000 and to addresses within the UAE.

7. Delivery, returns and cancellation

Delivery is governed by our Shipping & Delivery policy, and returns, refunds and warranty by our Returns & Refunds policy. Both form part of these terms.

In summary: we deliver within the UAE only; risk passes to you on delivery; ownership passes on payment in full; and you have 14 days from delivery to return unworn frames in their original packaging, subject to the exclusions listed in that policy.

8. Prescription eyewear and eye health

Eyevora is a retailer, not a healthcare provider. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a sight test, or a substitute for examination by a licensed practitioner.

Where you order prescription lenses, you are responsible for supplying a current, valid prescription issued by an optometrist or ophthalmologist licensed to practise, together with your pupillary distance. We make lenses to the figures you give us. We are not liable for a prescription that is out of date, transcribed incorrectly by you, or unsuitable for the frame chosen — though we will tell you if a combination looks implausible before we cut anything.

Contact lenses are supplied only against a current contact-lens prescription and must be fitted and reviewed by a qualified practitioner. If you experience pain, redness, sudden change in vision or any discomfort while wearing eyewear obtained from us, stop wearing it and seek medical attention.

9. Virtual try-on

The virtual try-on runs in your browser and is offered as a visual guide to proportion and style. It is not a measuring instrument and does not produce an optical measurement of your eyes or face. Lighting, camera angle and head position all affect what you see.

A frame looking right in a try-on is not a warranty that it will fit, and a difference between the try-on and the delivered item is not by itself a defect. For sizing, rely on the millimetre measurements on the product page.

Any image you produce with the try-on stays on your own device unless you choose to save or share it. See the Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual property

The Eyevora name, logo, site design, text, photography and software are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2021 on Copyright and Neighbouring Rights and by trade mark law.

You may view and print pages for your own use. You may not copy, republish, scrape, resell or use our content commercially, or use it to train a machine learning model, without our written permission. Brand names and product images belonging to the manufacturers we stock remain their property.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm anyone;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, our servers or our infrastructure;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site beyond ordinary search-engine indexing;
  • introduce malware, or interfere with the site’s operation;
  • place orders for resale without our written agreement.

Serious misuse may be reported to the authorities. Certain conduct online is a criminal offence in the UAE under Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021.

12. Reviews and anything you submit

If you submit a review, photograph or comment, you confirm it is your own, is honest, and does not infringe anyone’s rights or breach UAE law. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it in connection with the product concerned.

We may decline or remove submissions that are unlawful, defamatory, offensive, impersonate someone, or exist to promote another business. We do not have to publish anything.

13. Our liability

We take responsibility for supplying goods that match their description and are of satisfactory quality, and for the duties UAE consumer protection law places on us. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and nothing here reduces your statutory rights.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from your reliance on the try-on as a measurement. Our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

We do not promise the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend or withdraw it, in whole or in part, for maintenance or any other reason.

14. Events outside our control

We are not liable for failing to perform where the cause is outside our reasonable control — including courier failure, extreme weather, utility or network outage, supplier failure, government action, or civil emergency. Where such an event materially delays your order we will tell you, and you may cancel and receive a full refund of anything undelivered.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the business, the law or our services change. The version published on this page when you place an order is the version that governs it, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed. Material changes will be notified to account holders by email.

16. Governing law, complaints and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates have jurisdiction.

If something goes wrong, tell us first — email support@eyevora.com and we will acknowledge within one working day and aim to resolve it within fourteen. Almost everything is settled at that stage.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you may refer the matter to the consumer protection service of the UAE Ministry of Economy, or to the consumer protection department of the emirate in which you live. Doing so does not affect your right to go to court.

17. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours if the business changes hands, and doing so will not reduce your rights.

These terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience, and the English version prevails in the event of a conflict.
